Hastings Water Works Announces New Classes
The season is winding up. We have closed the last of our residential and outdoor commercial pools. You would think that things would slow down around Hastings Water Works. But this time of year, through next March, we start booking residential and commercial openings. We provide aquatic management and lifeguarding services for indoor pools. We maintain water features like fountains, year-round. And we do a ton of preventative maintenance work so that you don’t miss a day of the upcoming season. Along with all of that, this year, we’re rolling out a variety of new classes.
The Job Market Is Tough – Extra Training Makes You More Employable
Especially for young people and people seeking first-time employment, the job market is at one of the toughest points we’ve seen. To be more competitive, you need to offer something that sets you apart from others. Hastings Water Works is excited to offer a variety of new classes. These new classes are perfect for teens, young adults, and early career professionals to help you.
Lifeguard Training
We’ll be hiring lifeguards starting in February for the 2021 season. Lifeguard jobs can be full or part-time, and we’ll work around your schedule if you’re going to college or have a full-time job. Right now, we’re providing lifeguard training courses so that you can get certified and be ready to get a job as soon as the season begins.
Lifeguard Instructor Training
Have you ever wanted to teach others how to be lifeguards? If you’re a certified lifeguard looking to advance your career prospects and you are or will be at least 17 before the course ends, you should consider taking Hastings Water Works Lifeguard Instructor Training course.
Babysitting and Childcare
Are you too young to get a “real job” but want to earn money to save for college now? Babysitting can be a lucrative way to earn, but most parents are more relaxed when they know the babysitter has training. Our course is for 11-15-year olds, certifies you for two years, and includes First Aid, CPR and AED for children and infants.
Basic Life Support
If you’re entering the medical field as an EMT, first responder, or other care profession, this CPR and First Aid course is for you. You’ll learn how to provide emergent care for people who are having heart attacks, choking, overdosing, and more.
First Aid and CPR/AED
This course will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants and meets OSHA/workplace requirements.
Wilderness and Remote First Aid
Whether you’re just planning to go out hunting or hiking or you want a job working in the outdoors, our wilderness and remote first aid course will provide you with the skills you need when EMS isn’t just a phone call away.
Hastings Water Works is excited to offer these opportunities. Learn more about these courses and future courses.
